We are excited to announce that Arsenal Soccer Club will be holding a club wide fundraiser on July 31.  In conjunction with Real Salt Lake, we will hold our second annual Arsenal SC night at the July 31 game vs. DC United. This will be a team based fundraiser with a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold given directly to your team to be used by your coaches, and your players, for your team.  The Arsenal SC club does not keep any of this money. 

Here's the way it will work. 

Please sell as many tickets as you can.  It will benefit you and your team directly, and it will be an enjoyable way to spend the evening at a professional game, show off your Arsenal/Strikers uniforms and have a blast together.  RSL has also given us the opportunity to buy vouchers under this same fundraiser for games of your choice if you want to support the team but can't make the Arsenal night.

Tickets will be sold for $18 per seat and will be located in the North goal.  The more tickets the club sells the more money your team will receive.  If the club can sell 1,000 tickets, we will receive $6 for every ticket sold.  Coaches will decide where this money is best spent for your team. 

A contest will be held for the top selling teams and individual player.  The top selling team age 13 and over will be the ball "boys"...or "girls" for the game.  The top selling boys & top selling girls teams 12 and under will be able to play a game on the field during half-time.  Also, the individual player that sells the most tickets will receive an autographed RSL jersey.

Arsenal SC has arranged for six goalkeeper training sessions (totaling nine hours) free of cost to the goalkeepers in our club.  Here are the details:

Sessions are from 5:00pm to 6:30pm on Mondays for the next six weeks (7/19, 7/26, 8/2, 8/9, 8/16, 8/23).   The trainers will be Ethan Adams (Lehi High School Goalkeeper Trainer); Riley Anderson (Lehi's State Champion Goalkeeper); and Tonya Smith (former Lehi Goalkeeper who played for Dixie).  The training sessions will be at Olympic Park.

Please limit the number of goalkeepers to two per session (at most) so that the trainers can give the goalkeepers enough attention.  The goalkeepers should bring their goalkeeping gear, water, and a ball.  This is an exciting opportunity for the keepers in our club so please pass this information along to all the goalkeepers in the club so that they can get the additional training that they deserve.

 Camp Details:

-      This camp will focus on the technical, tactical and physical aspects of youth goalkeeping.  The following skills will be taught: 

*Fundamentals of stopping/saving shots. (Handling, footwork and diving)

*Positioning

*Distribution

*Dealing with crosses (end-line crosses and crosses from deeper positions) 

*1v1 scenarios (positioning, technique and footwork) 

*Conditioning for youth goalkeepers (agility, flexibility, and coordination training) 

*Dealing with the pass-back

*Mental aspects of youth goalkeeping, (confidence, leadership and concentration)

Certified Athletic Trainer will be on hand for all sessions to provide any medical needs.

Water will be provided daily and light refreshments if needed.

All keepers will need to come prepared with a SOCCER BALL, proper attire, gloves, cleats, shin guards, sun screen (a must) and anything else needed to perform goal keeper activities.
